Certifications and Job Info

The Computer Network Systems and Security (CNSS) degree at Bay College has been certified and accredited by the Committee on Network Security Systems, formally known as NSISST/NIST benchmarks.  CNSS certification, developed by a consortium of government agencies including the NSA\CIA\FBI, verifies that students in the degree program have learned how to safeguard data integrity, system access, and system forensics and reporting and fault tolerance techniques.

The CNSS degree at Bay College became one of only 170 colleges and universities in the nation to attain this certification in 2007.  Recently, CNSS Instructors re-accredited the curriculum and the CNSS program is still the only Upper Peninsula college or university to have achieved it.  Certification verifies the student is both highly skilled hands on and passed an academically rigorous curriculum related to systems security and information assurance.  This summer CNSS instructors attended the re-accreditation ceremony in Florida and participated in training related to mobile forensics training and how to implement CyberSecurity curriculum in K-12 schools.
