is a Computer Network Systems and Security Instructor at Bay de Noc Community College in Escanaba. Highum has been employed at Bay College since 1996. Originally hired as an Electronics Instructor, Highum wrote the Computer Systems Technology Degree in 1999 and transferred to that program full time in 2006, now called Computer Network Systems and Security. He holds a Masters of Science in Career and Technical Education (Highest Distinction) from Ferris State University. He has earned certifications from the ETA in Senior Electronics Technician, CompTIA in A+, Network+, and Security+, and is a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA- 5 Exams) in Windows XP and Windows Server and Network Environment. Highum was named an Outstanding Educator for Bay College in 2008-2009. Highum passed the MTA Windows 7 OS, and Networking certifications. In 2010, Highum attained the CompTIA Linux+ and Linux Professional Institute certifications and recently attended Mobile Applications training and served as a judge for Mechatronics at the Skills USA National competition.
