Bay West LIFE (Learning Is ForEver)

Bay West LIFE was started in October, 2009, by a group of interested retirees who wish to promote life-long learning in the Dickinson County area.  It was patterned after a similar group at Bay's Escanaba campus, the Bay Sages.  Our mission is to bring people together to learn new things and keep our brains active and stimulated throughout our lives.

All retirees, or person of retirement age, are welcome to our monthly meetings which are held the second Thursday of each month at the Bay College West campus on North US 2 in Iron Mountain.

The cost of membership is $1.50 per month, or $18.00 per year, which includes coffee and snacks and a contribution to the scholarship fund!  Snowbirds are welcome to pro-rate their membership for the months they are here. We currently have over 88 paid members.  Guests are always welcome.
Come and see what we are about!

Bay West Life Scholarships

Bay West LIFE supports Bay West students! Bay West LIFE was started in 2009 by a group of retirees to promote life-long learning and education in Dickinson County.  The group recently donated a $1,000 scholarship to assist two Bay College students at West Campus over the age of 50 for the Academic Year 2017-2018.

Scholarship donations from organizations such as Bay West LIFE help remove financial barriers for students. The opportunities provided by scholarships help students reach their academic goal of receiving a college degree and enhancing their future career.

Students should apply online at www.baycollege.edu/scholarshipapp.  Bay College awards nearly 300 scholarships totaling over $300,000 every year to future, current, and returning students.  Funding for scholarships is made possible by donations to the Bay College Foundation by businesses and organizations, as well as individuals through endowment, estate and annual contributions.

If you are interested in creating a scholarship, please contact the Bay College Foundation at 906-217-1700 or email foundation@baycollege.edu. Bay College is an Equal Opportunity Employer and offers scholarships based on donor defined criteria. Education programs are offered in Escanaba, Iron Mountain, Manistique and Online.
