The recently re-established Upper Peninsula Human Trafficking Task Force (UPHTTF) has teamed together with the Department of Justice, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, several Upper Peninsula Law Enforcement Agencies, and other local “experts” in the field to bring Human Trafficking Community Awareness to the UP in a week-long event during Human Trafficking Awareness Month.  Beginning Monday, January 22, 2018 the group will be presenting presentations across the U.P. at local colleges and universities.

Kaylee Hubert was a recipient of the Bay College Board Elite Scholarship for Academic Year 2017-2018.  The Bay College Board Elite Scholarship is awarded each year to an academically deserving student at West Campus and the Escanaba Campus.  The award covers tuition, fees and textbooks at Bay College.

James L. Hermans has elected to resign from Bay College’s Board of Trustees in response to the Michigan Attorney General’s recent legal opinion which found that under Michigan’s Incompatible Public Offices Act an individual cannot sit on the board of education for a school district and the college’s board of trustees at the same time if the school district and the college have entered into a contract.
