Career Closet located on the campus of Bay College in Escanaba.
The Career Closet, located on the campus of Bay College in Escanaba, has been a community resource run by the Escanaba chapter of Altrusa International Inc. Operation of the Career Closet is currently being transitioned to Bay College this summer for the future needs of students and community members.
The Career Closet is a community resource dedicated to providing professional interview and work clothes to members of the community. This successful community program has been available and operational through the members of Altrusa and the generous donations of clothes to the program. The Career Closet building is currently located just south of the YMCA and will still be operating on an as-requested basis until a volunteer staffing structure is developed. Appointments can be made, at least 48 hours in advance, by calling 906-217-4266.
Bay College would like to thank the Escanaba chapter of Altrusa International Inc. for their support of the Career Closet and the community, and those who have donated clothes through the years. Bay College also wishes to thank Altrusa International Inc. and specifically Altrusa member Donna Marchak who has provided leadership for this program and the transition. “Her dedication and persistence is exceptional and is appreciated as the Career Closet starts a new chapter built upon her advice and guidance,” says Becky Landenberger, Degree Completion Specialist, the newest contact person for the Career Closet.
