I think that the “artistry” in what I do is “I have an ability to see beauty in things and expose that beauty for others to enjoy”. I enjoy exploring ways to reveal that beauty. Over the years, I have found that what pleases the eye of a person can change. I would like to think that people look at that stack of firewood or that knotty old tree differently, after they experience some of my work. Some pieces take up to a year to cure and finish. Some like to wrestle with me and show me what they are going to be. Others, tend to let my hands shape and mold them to my interpretation of beauty. I have a relationship with every piece, some more passionate than others!
The exhibition of his work can be viewed from November 1, 2017 to January 9, 2018. There will be an Artist Talk and Reception, on Thursday November 16 at 2:00 pm EST.
