Bay College Training & Development (M-TEC) will be offering a series of beginner level technology courses for the adult learner. The courses will be taught by Bay College Library Director, Oscar DeLong, and include instruction, materials, and plenty of hands-on time.
Oscar says, “I realize that there is a great need for these types of classes. We are all beginners at some point. I am grateful for this opportunity to teach others what I know and I am certain that together we can learn.”
The course schedule is listed below. Those registering for all four classes will receive a $10 discount.
Basic Computer Skills - Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
This class will cover all the basics needed to operate a computer including: operating systems, keyboard and mouse shortcuts, personalizing your PC, surfing the net, search engines, email, and computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel and more. Cost: $18
Smartphone Necessities, Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Don’t let your smartphone outsmart you – learn the secrets to handling your phone with ease! This class will focus on the specific interests of participants as well as apps, texting, and photos. Bring your cellphone and ask questions. Cost: $14
Keeping in Touch: Skype, Facetime & Video Chat, Tuesday, April 5, 2016 from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Don’t let miles keep you apart from friends and family – see them as often as you’d like! This session will teach you how to Skype or video chat no matter where you are. Cost: $14
Facebook for All: A Beginner’s Guide, Monday, April 11, 2016 from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Learn how to set up a Facebook account and what all it can do. Whether you want to look up old friends or just follow your family to see the pictures they post, this session will show you the ropes. Cost: $14
