. Any Bay College employee, Board member, student, alumni, or community member may nominate a full-time or regular part-time exempt or non-exempt employee for the Bay College Outstanding Staff Award. These individuals must have completed three years of employment at Bay College. Nominees are judged by their job knowledge; respect and enthusiasm toward colleagues, students, and community members; creating a positive influence within the work environment; collaboratively working with colleagues and staff.
The 2015 Outstanding Staff are as follows:
Beth serves as the Human Resources Specialist. She was hired by Bay College on February 15, 2010. Beth holds two Associate of Applied Science degrees from Bay de Noc Community College, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration where she majored in Human Resource Management from Central Michigan University.
Beth was nominated by multiple colleagues who recognized her ability to demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills as well as technical skills in her profession. One of these fellow staff members said, “Despite Beth’s immense workload, she never makes people feel rushed or unimportant when they need her help. She values all of the people around her, which is exemplified by her caring and focused interactions.” Aside from Beth’s position responsibilities, she is a member of multiple committees at Bay College including the Wellness Team and co-leads the Employee Culture and Communication Team. Beth is recognized as a leader by colleagues throughout Bay College and contributes a great deal of positive, constructive perspective that leads to better decision making and problem solving. “Beth’s consistent professionalism enveloped by compassion for others is not only a great match for her profession, but is something we all should strive to emulate both here and outside of the walls of Bay College.” – Bridget DeGroot, Director of HR.
