Ceramic Artist, Kenyon Hansen Demonstrating Pottery at Bay West


Bay College West invites the public to a ceramic demonstration by artist, Kenyon Hansen on February 23, 2016 at 1:30PM in the Lower Commons.  Kenyon will demonstrate his artistic endeavors on the wheel and share his artistic insights with the participants.

Kenyon Hansen is a full-time studio potter from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. He graduated from North Dickinson High School and is an alumni of Finlandia University.  He has been an artist–in-residence at the Archie Bray Foundation, where he was awarded the Lincoln Fellowship, as well as Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts. In 2013, he was selected as an Emerging Artist by Ceramics Monthly. Kenyon has taught at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts and Greenwich House Pottery in New York City. His functional ceramics can be found in galleries throughout the country and in friend’s homes.  Kenyon is currently a visiting artist and ceramics instructor at Finlandia University in Hancock, Michigan.

In addition, the public is also invited to a reception on Tuesday, February 23rd from 6 PM – 8 PM honoring the Finlandia Faculty Artists who are exhibiting along with Kenyon Hansen at Bay West. Refreshments will be served and pianist, Valarie Swanson, will provide music. The Exhibit can be viewed from February 23rd through April 4th at Bay West College’s Upper Commons.
