3/17/2016

Bay College is thrilled to announce a contest to discover the commencement speaker for this year’s ceremony!

Students are asked to write a speech that they would like to deliver at commencement.  All speeches should be between three and five minutes long when read aloud and should specifically address new Bay College graduates.  It is also expected that all speeches will be proper and responsive to the sensitivities of general audiences.

The winner of the contest will be recognized at the Awards Dinner on Tuesday, April 27, gets to speak at Commencement on Saturday, May 7th, and will receive $75.  The second place winner will receive $25 and all students who apply for the contest will receive a $5 Café Bay gift card.

To enter, students can simply write a speech, making certain to include name, contact email, and telephone number with the entry.  Entrants can then email speech entries to Dave McGinnis – Instructor of Speech/Theatre – at dave.mcginnis@baycollege.edu – no later than Tuesday, April 5th, 2016.  All contestants must be eligible to graduate by Summer 2016, have applied for graduation, and be planning on participating in Commencement.

Any questions can be directed to Dave McGinnis, Instructor of Theatre at Bay College, by telephone at (906)217-4028 or by email at dave.mcginnis@baycollege.edu.
