Bay College West announces, In Progress, an exhibit of artworks featuring the work many student artists. The public is invited to the Opening Reception to meet the artists on Tuesday, April 14 in the Lower Commons of Bay College West from 6 PM to 8 PM. There will be live music by pianist, Jan Van Gasse and  refreshments will be served.
The Exhibit can be viewed from April 8th to May 6th at Bay College West . In Progress represents a culmination of a semester of work for these students. The exhibit will include drawings, paintings, and photography. They use a variety of media including graphite, charcoal, watercolor, ink, collage, pastel, oils, acrylic paint, photographic images and other materials to produce their compelling images.  They are learning to create unified compositions that effectively communicate their ideas and values. The exhibited works originated from three art classes – Drawing 1 & 2, Digital Photography 1 & 2, and Painting 1 & 2 taught by Shelly Danielson. This is a juried art show in which one artwork will be selected to be part of Bay’s Permanent Art Collection.

In conjunction with the student art reception, there will students from the Cultural Diversity Class and the Nursing Department sharing their poster symposium, A Celebration of Student Learning.   The public is invited to these events on April 14 from 6-8PM at Bay West.
