The Bay College Diversity Committee, in celebration of Women’s History Month, announces that Lynne Wilson of Iron Mountain will present a lecture on Rosie the Riveter: The Role of Women in the Work Force During World War II on Thursday, March 31st at 12:30 p.m. CT in Fornetti Hall at Bay West. Ms. Wilson is a leader in the community and is an active member of the Iron Mountain/Kingsford Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). The public is invited to this free event.
Ms. Wilson will chronical the influx of women in the workforce when our country was fighting a war on two fronts. She will discuss the different jobs women had in the defense plants, the hardships they encountered because of the social views of the time when women were to be in the home, and the effect this had on women’s role in the workplace during the post war period.
