Bay College recently welcomed Gina Wollner as the new Manager of Business Development & Community Engagement at the West Campus in Iron Mountain, MI. The college recognizes Dickinson County’s affluent industry and is striving to support the area’s workforce needs with this newly created position.

Wollner graduated from Kingsford High School in 2006 and received her Bachelor’s degree from St. Norbert College in 2010. After living in Milwaukee, where she worked in the field of marketing, Wollner moved back to Iron Mountain in early 2016. Most recently she owned and operated Upward Events & Marketing in Iron Mountain, where she served clients throughout Dickinson County. The selection committee saw her as a good fit for the position due to her demonstrated dedication to making a positive impact in the community.

Wollner is currently meeting with the local businesses to open up the lines of communication to better understand challenges and opportunities for training and workforce development. Bay College hopes to identify the commonalities between the different businesses in order to bolster training and education opportunities to meet local needs. In addition, Wollner is connecting with community organizations to bring awareness to the resources at Bay College’s West Campus.

“There is such an opportunity for students in our area to receive a great education, discover what they want to do and land a fulfilling job locally. We need to get the word out on everything Bay West has to offer and strengthen the continuing education opportunities to support our local industry,” Wollner stated.

If you’re a business looking to partner with Bay West on apprenticeships, student incentives or continuing education please contact Wollner by phone at 906-302-3012 or by email at gina.wollner@baycollege.edu.
