Bay College is offering a 120-hour Nurse Aide training beginning Tuesday, June 13, 2017. The Nurse Assistant Training Program provides classroom instruction and hands-on clinical training to prepare students to qualify for the State of Michigan CNA examination.
Bay College’s Nurse Aide training consists of 80 hours of classroom lecture/lab and 40 hours of clinical training at a local long-term care facility. Classroom and laboratory training will take place at the M-TEC at Bay College in Escanaba. Cost of the training is $800, which is eligible for full reimbursement, plus the cost of books, scrubs, and instructional material.
The employment outlook for CNA’s is expected to grow at a rate of 21% and according to Renée Lundberg, Manager of Training and Workforce Development, “The local long-term care facilities in our area have an immediate need for Nurse Aides. Many of these facilities are offering to sponsor the training fee for eligible individuals seeking employment at their location”. CNA positions offer competitive wages with many receiving benefits; including sign-on bonus, health insurance and paid vacations.
Students are required to pass a criminal background check and attendance is mandatory.
