MNA Donation for Lisa Hanson Memorial Nursing Scholarship

The Registered nurses of St. Francis Hospital, represented by the Michigan Nurses Association (MNA), elected to donate a check for $800 to the Lisa Hanson Memorial Nursing Scholarship at Bay College. Diane Lachance, the local MNA Treasurer, said “We are proud to donate this money in memory of our friend and fellow nurse.” Pictured is Diane Lachance of OSF and Kim Carne of Bay College.

Bay College Announces Quarterly TORCH Award Winner

Bay College hosts Virtual Dementia Tour® (VDT®)

Bay de Noc College Nursing Department will host the Virtual Dementia Tour® (VDT®) free of charge for the community on Monday January 12th and Wednesday January 14th to honor the 5.4 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease. This service is for family members and caregivers of elders suffering with Alzheimer’s disease.

Bay College Winter 2015 Math Science Colloquia Series Opens with talk on the Mars One project to establish a permanent settlement on mars.

Bay College’s winter 2015 Math Science Colloquia series opens with a free presentation at 4PM on Tuesday January 13 in room MS122 (with iTV link to West Campus 107).  Air Force Major Nick Noreus, Mars One astronaut finalist will speak about the mission and his experiences.  Mars One will establish a permanent human settlement on Mars. Crews of four will depart every two years, starting in 2024.

Bay West Announces Winners of the December Student Art Show

Bay West has announced its winners in 2014 Fall Semester Student Show. Art students enrolled in studio classes at Bay West have their best work on exhibit in Bay West’s Upper Commons. The student exhibit will be open for viewing until January 15, 2015.

Bay College Gala West, an Extraordinary Success

The Gala West event that took place on Friday, November 7, at Bay College West Campus raised over $45,000- nearly half of the funds needed to expand the student success center.

Bay College CIS Department Rewards Local Students

Bay College’s Computer Information Systems department sponsored competitions during recent on-campus events promoting the college’s occupational programs. These events were attended by over 800 middle- and high-school students from across the Upper Peninsula. Contest winners were Caroline Reese from Bark River-Harris, Joey Phillips from Escanaba, and Britney Reese from Mid-Peninsula. Bay College CIS Instructors Cheryl Miller and Joyce King traveled to each school to deliver prizes and visit with the victors.

From Differing Views: Student Artists’ Exhibition and Reception at Bay West

Bay College West announces, From Differing Views, an exhibition of artworks featuring the work of various student artists. The public is invited to the Opening Reception to meet the artists on Tuesday, December 2 in the Lower Commons of Bay College West from 6 PM to 8 PM. Refreshments will be served and Catherine Vivio, pianist, will perform music.
