507     REGULAR PART-TIME EMPLOYEE FRINGE BENEFITS POLICY

It shall be the policy of the Bay de Noc Community College Board of Trustees to provide regular hourly and salary employees who work less than full-time, but a minimum of 20 hours a week, with a pro-rated share of all benefits when the benefit is such that it can be pro-rated.

Part-time employees hired prior to the adoption of this policy shall continue to receive fringe benefits already granted as well as those provided in this policy.

This policy applies only to those employees who are granted regular employment status and does not include student positions. 

Individuals hired under categorical grants shall receive the fringe benefits provided in the approved application.

The benefits available to regular part-time employees includes: Vacation, Holidays, Sick Leave, Educational Benefit and Longevity Cash Bonus. 

Individuals may choose to purchase the Health Care Insurance, Dental,  Vision, Long-term Disability and/or Life Insurance offered by Bay College and the college will contribute a percentage of the board cap/premium based upon the employees full-time equivalent (FTE) status.  Regular part-time employees are eligible for a prorated portion of the Insurance Opt-Out,  providing they can show that they are covered by an approved health care plan.
