BAY de NOC COMMUNITY COLLEGE PERSONNEL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
Originator: Board of Trustees Revision Date: January, 2004 Subject: Computer and e-mail Usage 808 COMPUTER AND EMAIL USAGE POLICY It shall be the policy of the Bay de Noc Community College Board of Trustees to provide or contract for computer systems, services and equipment necessary for the conduct of its business. Procedures: 1. Employees are to utilize Bay College’s Computers, networks and internet services for college related purposes and performance of job duties. Incidental personal use of school computers is permitted as long as such use does not interfere with the employee’s job duties and performance, with system operations of other system users. “incidental personal use” is defined as use by an individual employee for occasional personal communication. Employees are reminded that such personal use must comply with this policy and all other applicable policies, procedures and rules. 2. All Bay de Noc Community College computers remain under the control, custody and supervision of the college. Bay College reserves the right to monitor all computers and internet activity by employees. Employees have no expectation of privacy in their use of college computers. 3. The president shall be responsible for overseeing the implementation of this policy and the accompanying rules, and for advising the board of the need for any future amendments of revisions to the policy. The president may develop additional administrative procedures/rules governing the day-to-day management and operations of the Bay College computer system as long as they are consistent with the Board’s policy. The President may delegate specific responsibility to other administrators as he/she deems appropriate. |
