810                 DRUG FREE WORKPLACE POLICY

It shall be the policy of the Bay de Noc Community College Board of Trustees to maintain a drug-free workplace in compliance with requirements of Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, 34 CFR Part 85, Subpart F.

Any employee is prohibited from engaging in the unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensing, possession or use of a controlled substance in the workplace and is subject to suspension and/or termination within five days for conviction of such offense.

Employees placed on suspension must participate in a drug abuse assistance or rehabilitation program approved by the appropriate administrator prior to reinstatement.

PROCEDURE:

810.1  All full and part-time Employees, including work-study students, tutors and part-time student positions, are asked to complete a drug-free work place certification form as a condition of employment prior to their first work day:

810.2  Human Resources will provide certification forms for new employee orientations.  Those departments who orientate new employees will be supplied with certification forms for their employees.

810.3  Individual departments will return completed drug-free certification forms to Human Resources when they are completed.
