Why Bay College?

The Forest Technology program at Bay College provides a solid foundation for further study in a more specialized area. Upon completion, students would also receive a Certificate in Forest Technology through Michigan State University. Students will benefit from dual enrollment at both institutions with all courses delivered at the Escanaba campus. This partnership allows students to earn an associate degree from Bay College and a certificate from the Michigan State University Institute of Agricultural Technology (IAT). The program goal is to engage students in intensive and practical skill development that will serve to address the changing needs of forestry practice and to train the upcoming generation of forestry professionals.

Students enrolling in the Forest Technology program will take 30 credits through Bay College and an additional 33 credits through the Michigan State University’s Institute of Agricultural Technology (MSU IAT). With this consortium program, students would receive an Associate in Applied Science in Forest Technology through Bay College as well as a Forest Technology Certificate through the MSU IAT.

By working together, Bay College and Michigan State University are able to offer this program close to home and at a lower overall cost. Interested students need to apply for admission to the MSU Institute of Agricultural Technology and for admission to Bay College.
