Practical Nursing
Certificate program at Bay College

Why Practical Nursing?
The Practical Nursing (PN) program equips students with the skills needed for employment as a nurse within a year. Practical nursing is a three semester program, and those who complete the program are awarded a Practical Nursing Certificate. Graduates will also meet the educational requirements to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN) upon completion.
CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTSWhy Bay College?
The Practical Nursing certificate program at Bay College prepares students to demonstrate entry-level competencies, providing basic nursing care to all age groups. This curriculum includes a background in the biological sciences, social sciences, general education, and nursing theory. Students will receive supervised clinical experiences in the hospitals, home health care agencies, long-term care facilities, physician’s offices and within the high-tech simulation center on campus. A bridge program is also available at Bay College for LPNs who later desire to continue their education and attain a registered nursing degree and beyond.
