Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration
Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR) is designed to introduce students to Bay College and its services. The information provided is vital to success as a student and therefore is required as part of the Bay College admissions process for students who are new to college, who are transitioning from Dual Enrollment to an undergraduate college student, and 5th year Early College students. Students who are returning to Bay College or who have college experience elsewhere are encouraged, but not required, to complete SOAR.
Students who have completed application and placement are invited to attend SOAR in person, when possible, and online through our Blackboard learning system.
To complete our online SOAR, please follow the instructions. The 15 modules within the course take approximately 75 minutes to complete.
- Visit baycollege.edu
- At the very bottom of the webpage, click on “Blackboard” under Quick Links
- Log into Blackboard with the username and personal password created following the instructions in the acceptance letter
- On the “My Institution” page, select SOAR-Online from the Course List
- Complete the 15 video module sections
Once you have completed the videos and satisfactorily answered the short quizzes, SOAR will be marked complete in our Student Information System.
If you experience difficulty locating the SOAR-Online class in Blackboard, please Email the Admissions%20Office or call 906-217-4010.
