Linda Lewandowski MSN, RN is the Dean of Allied Health at Bay College. Lewandowski has been employed at Bay College since 2000, when hired as a nursing program instructor. In 2001 Lewandowski assumed the role as Interim Dean of Allied Health for one year, then accepted and held the position as Dean until 2009. As dean, Lewandowski led the division to national accreditation with the NLNAC (now ACEN) for the ADN program, and achieved full accreditation for the new west campus nursing program in 2007. In 2009 Lewandowski returned to the faculty role to teach nursing and health courses until February of 2017, when the Dean of Allied Health position became vacant. Lewandowski started her health career as a ward clerk at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital prior to a move to Lower Michigan. She then attended Delta College and earned an Associate Degree in Nursing, then worked as a nurse for several years at Saginaw General Hospital and Aeromed. After moving to the Upper Peninsula in 1989, Lewandowski became employed in a home health agency and at the same time began to teach continuing education courses through Bay’s Lifelong Learning program, discovering a passion for teaching. During the 1990’s she completed her BSN and then MSN in Nursing Administration at Northern Michigan University, with a goal of someday becoming an educator of nurses. Lewandowski is a Bay Certified Online instructor, and has a certificate for completing Quality Matters training, as well as online certification through IUPU.
