The Clothesline Project

Bay College’s Diversity Committee is once again partnering with The Caring House in Iron Mountain to bring The Clothesline Project to Bay College’s West Campus.  The Clothesline Project honors women who have survived or been the victims of intimate violence. Any woman who has experienced such violence, at any time in her life, is encouraged to design a shirt.  Victims’ and Survivors’ families and friends are also invited to participate. Through this project, victims are able to decorate a t-shirt as a vehicle to express their stories, emotions, and testimonies against domestic violence.

Supplies to make shirts will be available on the Iron Mountain Campus in the Lower Commons from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. CST on Thursday, October 18th. In addition, staff from The Caring House will be present for anyone seeking resources or support.

Completed shirts will be displayed on the clothesline at Bay College’s West Campus. More information about the Clothesline Project can be found at http://clotheslineproject.info/about.html.
