Bay College Hosts EMS Conference

News

Bay College Training and Development is planning the annual Bay College EMS Conference that is slated for February 7-9, 2019. This conference will allow emergency medical service professionals the opportunity to choose from thirty-five different classes to earn up to thirteen continuing education credits, as well as listen to keynote presentations on each day.

Bay College EMT/Paramedic Program Director, LaVerne Smith, speaks to the importance of continuing education opportunities for EMS professionals in our region. "Prehospital emergency medicine is an exciting and rapidly growing field.  As such, this has created ever expanding expectations to keep current with the latest skills and techniques.  EMS conferences offer a great opportunity to meet these expectations.  At the Bay EMS Conference, EMS providers will receive high quality continuing education from qualified National, State and local presenters in a comfortable, fun, and academic setting.  The Bay EMS Conference is also an opportunity to network with other EMS professionals, sharing knowledge and best practices."

This conference, made possible with generous support from Aspirus MedEvac and Valley Med Flight, will take place in several buildings on the campus of Bay College. Conference fees include an invitation to the evening reception on Thursday, registration, continental breakfast, and lunch. Registration fees for the event are as follows: two-day registration, $159; one-day registration, $109; students currently enrolled in an EMT/Paramedic program, $50 per day. Anyone registering before January 15 will receive a $10 discount. To view the conference breakout sessions or to register, visit baycollege.edu/emsconference. For more information call 906-217-4106.
