Bennett Scholarship Developed at Bay College
News
A new scholarship to support Bay College students was recently developed by Diane and Bill Bennett of Escanaba. Diane is a retired nursing instructor, teaching heath care courses at Bay College over a 29 year span, working in the field for 45 years, and a graduate of the first Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) class at Bay de Noc Community College. “Practicing healthcare and teaching nursing has been a very rewarding and enjoyable career. I feel I have been able to positively assist so many patients and students through the years” quoted Diane. This scholarship will be awarded each year to a non-traditional student demonstrating financial need, with a preference to nursing. Bill was also an educator, teaching math for 36 years. Both are excited to give back to students who start their education a little later in life.
Kim Carne, Vice President of Advancement/Foundation at Bay College stated, “We are honored that the Bennett’s have chosen Bay College students to support. With their generous scholarship gift, many students will be a step closer to earning a college degree, advancing their lives, and impacting communities.”
Founded in 1972, the Bay College Foundation connects businesses, organizations and individuals to the rewards of changing lives and advancing communities with higher education.
