Bay College West to Host Second Annual Leadership Conference May 23

Bay College’s West Campus is set to host their second annual Leadership Conference on Thursday, May 23rd.  This year’s Bay College Leadership Conference will center on the theme of “leading where you are.”

Top experts in a variety of fields will provide advice from their own experience, allowing attendees to better understand what it means to be a leader. The keynote speaker, Dr. Joe Sanfelippo, is the Superintendent of the Fall Creek School District in Fall Creek, WI. Joe co-hosts the Hacking Leadership Podcast, and co-authored The Power of Branding-Telling Your School's Story, Principal Professional Development: Leading Learning in a Digital Age and Hacking Leadership .  He was selected as 1 of 117 Future Ready Superintendents in 2014 and 1 of 50 Superintendents as a Personalized Learning Leader in 2016 by the US Department of Education.

Other speakers include: Bridget Kennedy, Human Resources Director at Systems Control; Joe Smith, EVP at CCI Systems; Connie Tresedder, Mindset Coach, Author, Speaker; Contagious Life & Purpose; Mark Klossner, Vice President of Marketing at BOSS Snowplow; Dr. John Fornetti, DDS, Owner of the John Fornetti Dental Center, and Dr. Crystal Hendrick, Social and Behavioral Sciences Instructor at Bay College. In addition, Paula Craven, Director of Iron Mountain’s Downtown Development Authority, will moderate a panel of community leaders including: Jessica Frost, President and CEO of Lake Shore Systems; Dave Brisson, President of Loadmaster; and Steve Roell, RPH, President of TDS, Inc.

“We often think of leaders as holding lofty titles, but leaders begin their work regardless of their position on the hierarchy. It’s not your official title that makes you a leader - it’s recognizing an issue or a place where there is room for innovation or improvement, and leading from where you are right now,” said conference organizer Gina Wollner, Director at Bay College – West Campus.
