Bay Offers Mine Safety (MSHA) Annual Refresher

Bay College Training and Development will be hosting an 8-hour Annual MSHA Refresher course of Part 46 and 48 of the Mine Act, Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA). The 8-hour MSHA program covers the annual training requirements for owners and operators under 30 CFR parts 46 & 48 (companies training under Part 46 must have an approved training plan). If you are an owner or employee of shell dredging, sand, gravel, surface stone, surface clay, colloidal phosphate, and surface limestone mines, you must receive annual training under 30 CFR parts 46 and 48. All attendees must be “experienced miners” and have completed their 24-hour New Miner training. Training will be conducted through Michigan Technological University’s Michigan Mine Safety & Health Training grant.

The training will be offered in Escanaba on Tuesday, April 23 from 8 AM – 5 PM at the M-TEC building at Bay College. The cost of the training is $49, which includes lunch.
