LSSU's Escanaba / Iron Mountain Regional Center Announces Spring 2019 Graduates

Fourteen area residents have successfully completed their requirements for a bachelor’s degree and graduated following the Spring (January) 2019 semester from Lake Superior State University (LSSU).

Graduating with a bachelor’s of science in accounting are Katana Freed (Engadine), Steven Jean (Escanaba), Heather LaLonde (Rapid River), Michael Larson (Rapid River), Lea Ratzkewitsch (Bark River), and Brittany Tebo (Wilson); Ratzkewitsch also completed the 150-credit hour certified public accountant track.

Graduating with a bachelor’s of science in business administration are Preston Barstow (Gladstone), Nicholas Chenier (Escanaba), Jared Dagenais (Escanaba), James McNeil (Escanaba), and Ashley Zofkie (Bark River); Chenier and McNeil also minored in accounting/finance; Barstow and Dagenais also earned a concentration in management; and Zofkie also earned a concentration in entrepreneurship.

Graduating with a bachelor’s of science in nursing are Sarah Gakstatter (Iron Mountain), Emily Johnson (Wilson), and Laura Sefcik (Nahma).

Gakstatter and Johnson graduated Summa Cum Laude, earning a 3.90-4.00 cumulative grade point average (GPA) on a 4.00 scale; LaLonde, McNeil, and Sefcik graduated Magna Cum Laude earning a 3.70-3.89 cumulative GPA; and Barstow and Larson graduated with Cum Laude honors, earning a 3.50-3.69 GPA.

McNeil commented on his educational experience, “I would like to express gratitude to all of the educators along the way. Their care, expertise, and individual attention have provided students a unique and enlightening experience.”
