Bay College Admissions Office Seeks Ambassadors

The Bay College Admissions Office is looking for positive, engaging people to represent Bay College through our Ambassador Program. This prestigious, resume-building opportunity is open to students who meet the following qualifications:

  • Bay College student
  • Desire to share their positive experiences at Bay College with others
  • In good academic standing with Bay College and maintain at least a 2.5 GPA (Incoming students may be selected, but will be held to the 2.5 GPA after the first semester of college is complete)
  • Maintain enrollment of at least 12 credit hours in Bay College courses
  • Outgoing, friendly personality and a desire to meet new people
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong social media presence on multiple platforms
  • Experience creating online content/Strong writing skills
  • Photography/videography skills (with mobile phone is sufficient)
  • Professional and positive attitude, reliable, goal-oriented and self-motivated
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to participate in the program for at least 1 year: August 2019 through August 2020 {May-August for events and special projects only} 

Roles, Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Documents personal student experience as well as other students’/alumni experiences and shares via social media and traditional print methods
  • Interacts positively with others via social media on a regular basis
  • Utilizes social media to find celebratory occasions and creates posts/notes/letters to participants
  • Attend and/or participate in college events and community events on behalf of the college.
  • Speaks about personal college experience to groups
  • Assists with presentations at local high schools
  • Gives tours of campus
  • Prepares personal notes to students in order to build and maintain relationships
  • Makes phone calls to potential/incoming students
  • Promotes a positive image of the college
  • Demonstrates a high standard of professionalism and citizenship at all times

Benefits to Student Ambassadors

Ambassadors will benefit greatly from their participation in the program. Training and experience provides opportunities to develop communication, organizational, public speaking and problem-solving skills. Community outreach will develop a sense of contributing to the community as well as personal and professional satisfaction in efforts to improve the lives of others. Students will also be able to enhance their resume through professional growth opportunities.


Ambassadors will receive a $750 scholarship per semester for Fall and Winter semesters. Selected students will be given a Bay College shirt to help identify their role to the public and these or other Bay College/Norse apparel items will be worn to events.

How to Apply

Students interested in applying should complete the Bay College Ambassador Application and submit one letter of reference by Thursday, July 25 at 5 p.m. to the Students Services desk in Escanaba’s Besse Center, the Students Services desk at Bay West, or via Email to the Bay%20College%20Admissions%20Office. Interviews will then be scheduled for the top potential applicants.
