Bay College Board of Trustees Acknowledge Service of Philip L. Strom

The Bay College Board of Trustees announces the resignation of Philip L. Strom effective August 30, 2019. Mr. Strom will leave the Board after eight years of service to accept a position as deputy city attorney for the City of Grand Rapids.

Mr. Strom’s wealth of knowledge and expertise in law and public administration has been an invaluable asset as a trustee. Through the years he has supported implementation of multiple initiatives to encourage student success; bringing Athletics back to Bay College; construction of the enhanced HATC and Welding facilities, the HUB, new Library, the Athletic addition at the Escanaba campus; and represented the College on the Michigan Community College Association Board of Directors to provide strong legislative and public advocacy in Michigan to improve the image and credibility of community colleges and advance numerous shared initiatives.
