New Bay College Trustee Appointed

The Bay de Noc Community College Board of Trustees appointed Gordon P. Fitch to fill the vacancy created by Philip L. Strom.

Mr. Fitch was selected from four candidates for the vacancy. Following tradition, the Board reviewed the skill sets each candidate would bring to the Board while attempting to achieve diversity in its membership.

Mr. Fitch is the Director of Business Development for Hagerty Insurance where he has been employed since 2001. Other positions included Agent Marketing Manager, Commercial Manager, and Vice President Specialty Group.

 Mr. Fitch is a graduate of Escanaba Area High School. He received his Bachelor degree in Finance from Western Michigan University and Executive MBA from Davenport University.

Mr. Fitch stated, “I believe that a strong community college is the most important asset to this region when it comes to promoting and supporting lifelong learning.”
