In celebration of Black History Month, the Bay College Diversity Committee is offering a free screening of “Blue Note Records: Beyond the Notes,” a documentary film about the history of Blue Note Records. This pioneering jazz record label showcased some of the finest artists of the 20th and 21st centuries such as Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, Bud Powell and Art Blakey, as well as present-day luminaries like Robert Glasper, Ambrose Akinmusire and Norah Jones. If you love music, especially jazz, this documentary is for you.

This event is free and open to the public. The film will be shown at Bay College’s Escanaba campus in the Besse Theater on Tuesday, February 4 at 7:00 PM (ET) and at Bay College West in the Fornetti Hall on Thursday, February 27 at 6:00 PM (CT).
