Bay College Board of Trustees Conduct President’s Annual Evaluation

News

Bay College and the communities we serve continue to benefit from the leadership of Dr. Coleman.

Under her leadership, Bay College has been recognized nationally in varying areas amongst community colleges. Specifically, this includes areas of student success and completion. These are of the utmost importance to us as a Board. The Board did cite concerns with Dr. Coleman’s use of social media during the millage campaign and for managing the future challenges with the College’s aging infrastructure resulting from the unsuccessful millage.

The College continues to evolve and meet the ever-changing landscape of higher education. This is due in large part to Dr. Coleman’s foresight, effective fiscal management, and advocacy efforts. Her review is indicative of the culture of success she has fostered.

We are again pleased with her performance as evidenced by her strong ratings in several categories. Her overall, weighted average rating, is 4.15 on a 5-point scale.

Dr. Coleman responded, “I am blessed to work for an exceptional board and with exceptional colleagues at Bay College. Both the Board and the employees are focused on student success, community success, and a culture of success. Because everyone at Bay College is working well together, the College has had a great year. Bay College was one of three colleges to receive Special Recognition by Achieving the Dream, which reflects nine years of improvements in overall student completion rates and new initiatives have been launched this year that we anticipate will continue to improve student success rates.”
