Bay College Announces Student Art Award Winners

Bay College is pleased to present the award winners for our very first virtual Student Art Exhibition. Each year, Bay College hosts a gallery showing of the current students’ work. This year, we were unable to hold a reception and award ceremony since the Bay College campus is closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but award winners were still chosen and we are celebrating our art students’ success!

Each semester a “Purchase Prize Award” is given to one student per course. The work chosen becomes part of Bay College’s Art Collection. Students were also awarded 2^nd, 3^rd and Honorable Mention Awards.

The “Purchase Prize Award” winners are; Digital Photo II- Olivia Capodilupo, Staying Home, Digital Photo I- Jane Karweick, Untitled, Painting I- Leslie Kobasic, Self-Portrait, Visual Structures- Jane Karweick, Personal Mandala.

Additional award winners include: Digital Photography I - 2^nd place Jesse Schafer, Untitled, 3^rd place Shelby Olsen, Empty, Honorable Mentions - Jamie Rivard, Hailey Gustafson, Oscar Johnson. Digital Photography II - 2^nd place Christian Stapert, In the Mirror, 3^rd place Nathan Tufnell, Light.

Painting I - 2^nd place Jamie Rivard, Untitled, 3^rd place Mariah Sullivan, Self-Portrait, and Honorable Mention - Gabriel Gaudino and Olivia Fix.

Visual Structures - 2^nd place LaToya Nelson, 3^rd place Jesse Schafer, Honorable Mention - Oscar Johnson.
