Now Accepting Applications for Bay College West Campus Leadership Academy

News

Bay College West Campus is accepting applications now through July 17 for the third consecutive year of their Leadership Academy program. The Leadership Academy is geared towards bringing emerging leaders together to develop meaningful skills, grow their professional network, and become more aware of challenges and opportunities facing Dickinson County. The new cohort of 20 individuals will be announced on August 5. The total cost for this program is $900.00 per person.

The program includes eight three-hour workshops running monthly from September 2020 through May 2021. The workshop topics include personal mastery, the value of doing, interpersonal communications, external communications, difficult conversations, mentoring, technical skills, and servant leadership. Each meeting will also include lunch and a presentation or tour on topics ranging from getting involved, community history, local government and healthcare to economic development, human services, and education. Participants will also receive a professional headshot and admission to the 2021 Leadership Conference.

“The feedback on this training program has been very positive. Now more than ever we need strong, local leadership so we can put positive energy into making a difference at work and within our communities,” said organizer Gina Wollner, Dean of Bay College West Campus. In addition, the college will select an individual from a small business for a free seat in the program. “We want to support our small businesses who might not have the training dollars budgeted for this program. Their unique perspective will be a benefit to the entire group,” Wollner commented. Interested individuals can learn more and apply online by visiting the Bay College Leadership Academy web page.
