Bay College West Campus Hosts Lean Office Practitioner Training

Bay College West Campus, in collaboration with Northern Initiatives and Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (MMTC), will host a distance learning “Lean Office Practitioner” Training on Wednesdays and Fridays beginning Wednesday, October 14 through Friday, November 6, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM CT.

Participants will learn common, proven techniques to lean out office processes and make the workplace more efficient, productive, and perform at a higher quality level. They will learn how to identify waste in office processes and operations, understand where value is added to support the organization’s operations, and maximize value to internal and external customers. The cost of these eight sessions is $1,199.00. The deadline for registering is Wednesday, October 7 and a minimum of four individuals must be registered in order to move forward with the course.

Rob Summers, a Senior Business Advisor of Manufacturing with MMTC, will lead this training. Rob has more than 10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, production supervision, international business/business development, management/multi-site responsibility, and successfully deploying lean manufacturing concepts into production environments, primarily in aerospace. He is a certified Lean Practitioner in industry.

Participants should be highly driven, team-oriented, and have a desire to identify waste and improve processes while applying the tools taught in this training to lead small teams through quick, continuous rapid improvements and enact change. No previous training is required.
