Bay College West Campus Offers Dental Assistant Program

Bay College West Campus, in collaboration with the John Fornetti Dental Center, is offering a 9-week Dental Assistant Program from March 29 to May 27. This 80-hour program consists of lectures every Monday and Thursday from 4:00 - 6:00 PM CT at Bay College West, and clinicals every Wednesday from 3:00 - 7:00 PM CT at the John Fornetti Dental Center. The cost is $2,500.00 per person and all individuals must register by Wednesday, March 10.
This is currently the only Dental Assistant Program in Upper Michigan. Upon completion, participants will receive a Michigan Dental Assistant Radiography Certificate, CPR/First Aid/ AED certification, and a Certificate of Completion in Dental Assisting. This program is taught in a practicing dental office by active dental professionals. Meghan Olson, a Registered Dental Hygienist, and Paula Wender, a Registered Dental Assistant, of the John Fornetti Dental Center will lead this program.
Students will be coached on all aspects of general dental assisting, including dental specialties, and a variety of duties that are essential for a career in Dental Assisting. Students will receive hands on training in all equipment and instrumentation with the most current methods. They will also receive job interview coaching and upon request, a recommendation letter describing their training and experience.
