Bay College and LSSU Regional Center BPA Host “Chain of Love” Fundraiser for Local Special Olympics

News

The Bay College and LSSU Regional Center chapter of Business Professionals of America announces its annual “Chain of Love” fundraiser to raise money for our local Area 1 Special Olympics. This fundraiser will start on Monday, February 15 and go through Thursday, February 18. Volunteers will be accepting donations in the HUB on Bay College’s main campus from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM each day.

The idea behind this fundraiser is that for a small donation of $1.00, you will receive a paper chain link. On that link you may write the name of a special someone or an individual who you would like to keep in mind. Then, we will connect all the individual links together to form one large “Chain of Love.” This chain will be displayed in the HUB for the week as we add a link to it with every donation. On the last day of the fundraiser we will present the money raised to representatives from Area 1 Special Olympics.

The proceeds from this event help fund the costs that our local Area 1 Special Olympics program incurs. These costs include uniforms, equipment, and travel for all athletes. No athlete is required to pay because this organization wants them to be able to focus solely on having fun. This program is completely self-funded, which means they do not receive any federal funding. Therefore, fundraisers such as this are very important for this significant program to continue functioning and thriving.
