Congratulations to Sarah Davy, Bay College's quarterly (March 2021 - May 2021) TORCH Award winner. Sarah is the Bay College West Academic Support Coordinator. She is responsible for overseeing the Student Success Center at the West Campus which organizes all tutoring and supplemental instruction activities. She also serves both West Campus students and West Campus TRIO students as a Co-advisor.

Sarah was nominated by one of her students for going above and beyond to support student success. She is recognized for her work as noted in the following:

“She is always reaching out and coordinating with instructors to make sure the students have what they need to succeed. Every time I have needed something she has dropped everything to help me find what it is I need. I have seen her do this for many other students as well. During this pandemic, she has done an excellent job coordinating tutoring and ensuring the food pantry is running smoothly to help students who are in need now more than ever. She always has a smile on her face and every visit to her office has been a pleasant experience. When there is a problem, she will help the student solve it. Even if she personally can't help, she will happily point students in the right direction. I personally would not have been able to get through my first year at Bay West without all of her help and support!”

Sarah’s commitment and dedication shows she lives the mission of student success every moment of every day!

The purpose of the TORCH Award is to give personal recognition to those employees on Bay College’s campuses dedicated to the mission of the College because of their attitude, commitment, and dedication toward the higher education learning environment. TORCH stands for: Team Player; Outstanding Performance; Responsive to Others; Conscientious to Mission of Bay; Helpful to All.
