Each year, Bay College selects an Outstanding Graduate from each of the six divisions at the college.  The graduate is selected by their instructors for their academic excellence, leadership and community service.

Dan Harrington was selected as the 2021 Outstanding Graduate for the Math Science Division, with the award being sponsored by Engineered Machined Products (EMP), the Bay College Faculty Association and the Bay College Foundation.

After graduating from Kingsford High School in 2015, Dan worked a few years at UP Propane, his family’s business, before enrolling at Bay College in the Fall of 2019.  Dan stated, “Bay College was a perfect way for me to get my feet wet with school again after taking a break after high school.  I’m so thankful for the opportunity to further my education.”

In addition to his schooling, Dan is a member of the Bay College Norse Baseball Team.  Mike Pankow, Head Baseball Coach, stated, “Dan is a fantastic young man with so much dedication.  He is a great asset to the team, and I’m confident he will have a successful future.”

In April, Dan will earn an Associate in Science degree from Bay College.  He plans to continue his education and receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry, but is still deciding on which university he will attend.  Dan’s career path stems from his desire to understand the world and the role human beings play in it.

In his free time, Dan enjoys hunting, fishing, waterskiing and playing sports.  He is the youngest of three siblings, and contributes his success to his supportive family and his faith in God.
