Robert S. Varda Scholarship Established at Bay College
News
The Robert S. Varda Scholarship was established at Bay College to assist Dickinson County students pursuing a degree in Business or Pre-Engineering.
A graduate of Kingsford High School, Robert (Rob) continued his education at Michigan Tech University and earned degrees in Business and Electrical Engineering. He was employed throughout his career at Grede Foundry, Oldenburg Group and BOSS Snowplow.
Rob passed away in October 2019. His wife, Linda, created a scholarship within the Bay College Foundation in his memory to be awarded annually. “This scholarship is to honor Rob’s strong commitment to the community and his passion for his fields of education,” stated Linda. “Rob would be so happy to know he is helping students on their educational journey.”
