Congratulations to Marc Pilon, Bay College's quarterly (June 2022 – August 2022) TORCH Award winner.  Pilon is a part-time faculty member at Bay College, where he teaches several mathematics courses.  Pilon makes a substantial difference in the lives of students and supports the Bay College mission by his collaborative efforts and demonstrated leadership in the areas of mathematics education.

Pilon was nominated for going above and beyond to support students by two of his colleagues.  He is recognized for his work as noted in the following:

“Marc taught Basic and Intermediate Algebra in the winter semester.  His students were under prepared and needed additional help.  Marc gave up time before and after class to help his students along.  Marc collaborated with other faculty and academic support staff to go above and beyond in supporting the students. Marc has been open and willing to share his perspective on what he believes students need to get through Basic and Intermediate Algebra.”

“Marc is a great example of our mission.  He believes deeply in creating a culture of success and helping students find success.  Marc's willingness to double his work load in order to help his students succeed deserves to be recognized.”

Pilon’s commitment and dedication in making student success a number one priority has proven that he lives Bay College’s mission (Student Success, Community Success, Culture of Success) every day as an employee.

The purpose of the TORCH Award is to give personal recognition to those employees on Bay College’s campuses dedicated to the mission of the College because of their attitude, commitment, and dedication toward the higher education learning environment.  TORCH stands for: Team Player; Outstanding Performance; Responsive to Others; Conscientious to Mission of Bay; Helpful to All.  For career opportunities at Bay College, visit Bay College’s website at careers.baycollege.edu.
