“Brass around the World” Upcoming Concert at Bay

News

Bay de Noc Community College and its summer music series, Strings on the Bay, presents the Lansing Symphony Brass Quintet in a concert entitled “Brass around the World” on Tuesday, July 26, at 7:00 PM EST at the Besse Center Theater at Bay College.

The Lansing Symphony Brass Quintet is composed of trumpeters Neil Mueller and David Ammer; Corbin Wagner, French horn; John Gruber on trombone; and tubist Philip Sinder.  Mueller is Professor of Trumpet at Central Michigan University; Wagner is Associate Professor of Horn at Michigan State University.  Gruber is a visiting professor at Oberlin Conservatory, and Sinder is Professor of Tuba and Euphonium at Michigan State University.  David Ammer is Principal Trumpet with the Michigan Opera Theater and also performs regularly with the Detroit Symphony.

The program is an entertaining one, to be sure, featuring works from Bach, Brahms, and Purcell all the way to a tango by Piazzolla and selections by Duke Ellington.

Tickets are available on the College website [www.baycollege.tix.com] and at the door. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for K-Bay.

Strings on the Bay would not be possible without the generous sponsors. Bay College thanks those for their generous contributions.

Bay College is committed to the safety and success of the community. Navigating these extraordinary circumstances and continuing to contribute to a safe environment, there will be no receptions following the concerts this season.  There is hope to resume that practice in 2023.
