Bay College Announces Quarterly TORCH Award WinnerPage Title

Congratulations to Vicki DeGrand, Bay College's quarterly (September 2022 – November 2022) TORCH Award winner.  DeGrand is the Advancement Services Manager in the Advancement Department at Bay College.  DeGrand has been working with the college since 2011.  She is a Bay College alumni and also holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration - Management from Lake Superior State University.  DeGrand was nominated by two colleagues for being true to the mission at Bay College:

“Vicki is not only a team player but a team leader.  She is fully engaged with the entire department and other departments such as the business office.  Vicki values the input of all, seeks out input, and works to contribute above and beyond during meetings and team events.  This shows through with the Advancement Team, Foundation Board, Foundation Audit, Golf Outing, Fundraisers and more.”

“She is responsive to every student and works with scholarships in conjunction with financial aid to ensure each student has the resources to bridge financial gaps.  Additionally, she works with community success raising funds and supporting Bay events and community on campus.  She works towards ensuring each client has a positive experience.  From a cultural aspect, Vicki supports the Bay College team in every way possible.  She stays focused and achieves excellence in all she achieves.”

“If Vicki is tied to an event- specifically the awards dinner and annual foundation golf outing, you know it's going to be successful.  Her attention to detail and forward thinking lend to that success.  Whether working with her or volunteering for her, I'm always clear on the goals she sets forth.”

The purpose of the TORCH Award is to give personal recognition to those employees on Bay College’s campuses dedicated to the mission of the College because of their attitude, commitment, and dedication toward the higher education learning environment.  TORCH stands for: Team Player; Outstanding Performance; Responsive to Others; Conscientious to Mission of Bay; Helpful to All.
