Bay College Announces Tuition-Free College for Michigan High School Graduates

Bay College is thrilled to announce that, starting this academic year, Michigan high school graduates will have the opportunity to earn an associate degree, transfer credits or career certificate tuition-free. This groundbreaking initiative is made possible through the new state education budget and Governor Whitmer’s Michigan Community College Guarantee, which aims to make higher education more accessible and affordable for all Michigan residents.

The Michigan CC Guarantee will assist thousands of students statewide by easing the financial burden for families and helping students achieve their academic and career goals without the stress of tuition costs.

“I'm proud of our work to lower the cost of higher education and put college or skills training in reach for more working Michigan families,” states Governor Gretchen Whitmer. “This education budget goes even further, delivering on our Michigan CC Guarantee to ensure every Michigan high school graduate can earn an associate degree or skills certificate tuition-free at their community college.”

“This guarantee could lead up to full tuition costs at Bay College, and we’re excited to help recent high school graduates gain this incredible opportunity,” shares Ruth Carlson, the Director of Financial Aid.

“There is no better time to enroll in Bay College. The opportunity for a debt-free college education is now, and our team is here to support you all the way!” explained Admissions Director Jessica Beaver.

Beginning Fall of 2024, Michigan students from the Class of 2023 and beyond may qualify for the Community College Guarantee. It all starts with filling out a FAFSA form at studentaid.gov and applying to Bay College at baycollege.edu/apply. Both applications are free of charge.
