“Going back to school while having a young child was one of my biggest fears. I had so many questions. What was really best for my son and I? How would I be able to have time for my son while having to study or have classes all day long? After talking with the faculty, I had all the answers I needed and my concerns went away. I soon realized this will be the best decision I have made not only my family, but, more importantly, for myself.”

Ashleigh Hardy, a graduate of Forest Park High School Class of 2011 is pursuing an Associates degree in Nursing from Bay College. “I’ve wanted to go into nursing after being in the medical field as a medical assistant for two years. I chose to come to Bay because I wanted to be able to stay close to home where I can raise my son close to family.” Ashleigh is hoping to become a RN working on a surgical recovery floor for kids at a children’s hospital after graduation. I enjoy the medical field because I enjoy helping people.

Ashleigh joined the Bay College team as a work study for the Student Services department. She really enjoys working along side the Bay College staff and the flexibility around her class schedule. Ashleigh likes to stay busy with 10 hours a week working at Bay College and as a full-time apartment manager in Crystal Falls. Not only that, she has a class load of eleven credits, and she has a two-year old son at home. “This schedule definitely keeps me busy, but is also rewarding.  My son is my main motivation. I want him to be proud of me. I love both of my jobs because I love to meet new people and help anyone that may need it.”

Ashleigh recommends Bay College to anyone looking to further their career. “Bay College has many opportunities for students to succeed and to save a lot of money. It’s so amazing how helpful all the staff and faculty are here. The faculty are always available, and they go beyond any other college instructors I’ve had in the past. The small class sizes make learning so much simpler.  It’s nice passing an old instructor and have them remember me.  It’s awesome!” Bay College is an amazing choice to get a higher education with all of the helpful faculty ready to help answer any questions.  Everyone here wants to see the students succeed.
