Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (AAS)
Program Details
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) program prepares students to enter the career of medical imaging as a magnetic resonance imaging technologist. The program includes a rigorous curriculum of classroom, lab, and clinical education experiences in the Medical Imaging departments of hospitals and other healthcare facilitates, preparing the student for success on the national certification exam administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) program is offered through the Educational Programs in Collaboration (EPiC) Consortium. The MRI Program host school is Mid Michigan College. Here is the link to the blue underlined items: https://mwtec.org/mri-tech-program .By offering the program at Bay College, students are afforded the opportunity to complete the general education requirements on Bay’s campus. Once the entrance requirements are met, students will apply to the Michigan Online College to complete the MRI-specific courses, both online and at clinical sites close to home. Admission is limited to two students/year.
Why Bay College?
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging program at Bay College is offered through a partnership of Bay de Noc Community College and the following colleges: Kellogg Community College, Lansing Community College, Mid-Michigan Community College, Grand Rapids Community College, Lake Michigan College, and Grand Valley State University. The six colleges established the Educational Programs in Collaboration (EPiC) Consortium for the purpose of sharing instructional resources to offer the MRI program. The MRI Program host school is Mid Michigan College. Application Process
You must apply to the Bay College Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) program. The MRI program requires students to apply in order to rank into the program, only two seats are awarded in Spring of each year. Beyond Bay College
Students that complete the MRIT program at Bay College may go on to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Advanced Radiological Sciences.
