Dan Hall

Dan is the Social Behavioral Sciences Division Chair for Bay College. He also teaches Sociology and administers Bay's Sociology and Social Work programs. Dan is a native of Michigan. He attended Kellogg Community College where he received an associates degree in both Liberal Arts and General Studies. He is a graduate from Northern Michigan University (NMU) where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and minored in Psychology and Art & Design. He was also the graduate of the year in sociology at NMU. Afterwords, he went to Wayne State University where he earned a Masters of Arts in Sociology. Before coming to Bay College, Dan taught Sociology courses at Columbia Gorge Community College in Hood River & The Dalles, Oregon from 2013 to 2018. Dan has been involved with many initiatives such as Accreditation, Open Educational Resources, Quality Matters, Growth Mindset, MiTransfer Pathways, Framing the Future, and various other student success initiatives. His areas of academic interest are in Social Inequality, Social Change, and Qualitative Research.
