Dan is the Lead Sociology Instructor and Human Services Coordinator for Bay College. Dan is a native of Michigan. He attended Kellogg Community College where he received two associate degrees. He is a graduate from Northern Michigan University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and minored in Psychology and Art & Design. Later, he attended Wayne State University where he earned his Masters of Arts in Sociology. Before coming to Bay College, Dan taught Sociology courses at Columbia Gorge Community College in Hood River & The Dalles, Oregon, since 2013. Dan has been very involved with many initiatives such as Accreditation, Open Educational Resources, Quality Matters, Growth Mindset, and course content creation. His areas of academic interest are in Social Inequality, Social Change, and Qualitative Research.
