Bay College honored its 2025 Outstanding Staff during an awards banquet on April 22. Any Bay College employee, Board member, student, alum, or community member may nominate a full-time or regular part-time exempt or non-exempt employee for the Bay College Outstanding Staff Award. These individuals must have completed three years of employment at Bay College. Nominees are judged by their job knowledge; respect and enthusiasm toward colleagues, students, and community members; creating a positive influence within the work environment; and collaborating with colleagues and staff.
The 2025 Outstanding Staff are as follows:
Erica Mead
Erica has been employed with Bay College since 2011. She currently serves as TRIO's assistant director and co-advisor for all TRIO students. Erica holds a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Michigan State University and a master’s from Northern Michigan University, double majoring in English pedagogy and writing. Erica is a certified yoga instructor as well as a contracted grant writer.
A colleague shared, “Erica demonstrates her expertise by going above and beyond to connect with students, recognizing their “where they’re at status” and working to move them in a positive direction. She can build trust with students on a personal level. She strives to make connections to build trust. She continues to see the good in everyone and is simply a positive person to be around.”
Tina Jensen
Tina has been employed with Bay College since 2013 in various roles. She is currently an academic affairs coordinator in the Business, Technology, and Workforce divisions. Tina is a proud Bay College alumnus holding an associate's degree in applied science in business and a bachelor's degree in integrated leadership studies from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Tina is a lifetime resident of Delta County and currently serves as the Wells Township Clerk.
Tina’s colleague shared, “Tina has a way to make any and every obstacle look effortless. If she doesn’t know the answer- she won’t stop until she finds it. Tina never hesitates to explain the way of any task at hand and has a very solid history of the college.”
