Bay College honored its 2025 Outstanding Student Employee on April 24 with a small ceremony held at the Bay College, Escanaba campus. Any Bay College employee, Board member, student, alum, or community member may nominate a student employee for the annual Bay College Outstanding Student Employee Award. Nominees are judged by their teamwork, initiative, professionalism, outstanding performance, and contribution.
The 2025 recipient of Bay College’s Outstanding Employee award is Dorothy H. Love. Dorothy was hired in September 2024 as a student employee for the Student Service department at the Escanaba campus. As a student employee, Dorothy has taken the initiative to learn Bay College processes and become an integral part of the student service team. She continues to provide necessary support to the student service department, students, staff, faculty, and the public.
Several colleagues nominated Dorothy as dependable, hardworking, friendly, and a team player. One colleague said, "Dorothy is a huge TEAM player, she is self-motivated, dependable, and hardworking."
Another colleague added, "Dorothy is so kind and professional in her work with Bay College employees and students. She answers the switchboard in a professional manner and greets walk-in customers with a smile and kindness."
A third said, "Dorothy approaches her work with a willingness to learn and an energy that shows she wants to be here. She seeks out the information needed versus just passing the questions to someone else. When she is in the department, we know we are in good hands with walk-in traffic, phone traffic, and project work."
